Tottenham claimed their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Sunderland.
They left it late, but Tottenham do finally have their first win of the season at the fifth time of asking following a 1-0 win over Sunderland.
Spurs handed a start to new signing Son Heung-min at the Stadium of Light, whilst Sunderland also named their new arrival Fabio Borini in their starting line-up - but neither found the back of the net.
The game itself had plenty of talking points, and the first half saw former Spurs striker Jermain Defoe race clear against his former club, only to miss his one-on-one chance by hitting the post.
Mauricio Pochettino's side were quiet in attack, with Harry Kane again failing to get his name on the scoresheet, but they did find the opening goal.
After neat interchange with Erik Lamela, Ryan Mason was played in on goal, and the midfielder just managed to dink the ball over the top of Costel Pantilimon with just eight minutes to play.
However, Spurs weren't quite out of the woods yet as Younes Kaboul pulled the ball back for Jack Rodwell, with the midfielder's strike rattling the crossbar.
Tottenham did get over the line though and claimed their first win of the season, whilst Sunderland are still searching for their first victory of the campaign.
