Robbie Savage trolls Aston Villa fans on Twitter after late collapse

The former Leicester City and Birmingham City midfielder was quick to put the boot in on Aston Villa following their 3-2 defeat to the Foxes.

As a former Birmingham City star with something of a history for stirring the pot in Midlands derbies over the years, Robbie Savage's disdain for all things Aston Villa is already well documented.

So when Tim Sherwood's side let a 2-0 lead slip to lose 3-2 to Leicester City, another of Savage's former clubs, at the King Power Stadium, the BBC pundit could not resist the opportunity to stir the pot.

Villa are due to face Birmingham City in the Capital One Cup later this month in what will be the first Second City Derby encounter between the two teams since the Blues relegation from the Premier League back in 2011.

And ahead of the game, Savage decided to tease those of the Claret and Blue persuasion with a tweet that looks certain to prompt angry responses from Villa fans online.

With the game due to be played at Villa Park, the former Wales international is unlikely to be welcome in Birmingham come September 22nd.

In the meantime, Aston Villa fans will be more than a little concerned at the club's form, following an afternoon in which the team snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Villa have gone four Premier League games without a win and currently sit 15th in the table with four points from the first 15 available.
