Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to John Stones’ performance for Everton against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.
The 21-year-old defender started the Premier League clash at Goodison Park and played for the entire 90 minutes.
The England international centre-back gave a good account of himself, as Everton got the better of Chelsea 3-1.
Stones took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 86%, put in one cross, won 67% of the tackles, and made two interceptions, two clearances and two blocks.
Former United and Liverpool striker Owen was impressed with the performance of the Englishman and posted the following message on Twitter:

“Brilliant game at Goodison,” Owen wrote on Sportlobster.com. “John Stones was awesome and I hardly ever get excited by defenders! He's going to be top notch.”
Over the course of the 90 minutes at Goodison Park, Everton had just 39% of the possession, took 14 shots of which nine were on target, and earned seven corners.
