The Championship side drew 1-1 at Elland Road with The Bees.
Leeds United remain unbeaten in The Championship this season, but will surely be feeling lucky after their draw with Uwe Rosler’s former team Brentford yesterday.
The Bees had taken the lead in the game after Marco Djuricin netted in the 29th minute. It was what Leeds deserved after what was a fairly poor first-half at Elland Road.
In the end it was Italian striker Mirco Antenucci who saved a point. He scored in the 76th minute to earn Leeds a draw after a much improved second half performance.
After the game there was plenty of reaction to the result and performance on Twitter from the Leeds players.
Centre-back Liam Cooper summed up the mood well. He spoke of the team’s need to win games at home and the belief that in the second half, Leeds might have ended up nicking this fixture:
Still unbeaten! Need to win our home games though.Only one team going to win second half. Thanks to all the fans. We go again Tuesday!! #MOT— Liam Cooper (@LiamCooper__) September 12, 2015
Meanwhile Stuart Dallas was also on the Tweet. He commented on the strength of Brentford, as he would as a former Bee himself, but also felt Leeds could have snatched it:
Meanwhile Jordan Botaka seemed to enjoy his welcome to English football. The DR Congo international had been away on international duty this week so Rosler decided not to throw him in at the deep end. However, he watched the game and his ears may need to adjust to the Elland Road roar:
All in all positive from Leeds, but they must start turning these tight draws into victories if they are to challenge for promotion this season.
