As Aston Villa prepare for today's trip to Leicester City, veteran midfielder Joe Cole has given his verdict on the club's upcoming fixtures.
Having picked up four points in their opening four fixtures, the Midlands outfit currently occupy 14th place in the Premier League table and are four points behind their weekend opponents - Claudio Ranieri's Foxes.
In quotes published by the club's official website, the former England international has had his say on the club's upcoming game, while looking ahead to derby clashes with rivals West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City.
"We have three big games coming up in Leicester, West Brom and Birmingham City," he said. "I personally go into them in the same way as any other game.
"I think every match is an opportunity to compete and to win and that's what I like doing."
After this weekend's action, the Villans welcome Tony Pulis' Baggies to Villa Park in the league, before hosting Championship outfit and local rivals Birmingham in the third round of the League Cup.
After a lengthy career, Cole understands the sense of expectation and euphoria that surrounds a domestic derby, but he insists that his side must keep their cool and retain their discipline.
"There are other factors on derby day, though," he continued. "There's a heightened atmosphere and expectation.
"In football, you've got to try and play the game and not the occasion - that's what we'll be trying to do. Discipline is a big factor in these games."
Cole is yet to feature for Tim Sherwood’s side this term, despite appearing on 12 occasions – while scoring one goal – last campaign. He completed 75% of his attempted dribbles and played seven key passes.
