The Sheffield Wednesday midfielder was impressed with the Spaniard's goal.
Aston Villa have thrown away three points today but, on the plus side, they scored a couple of great goals!
Jack Grealish netted the first. The young midfielder ran onto a loose ball on the edge of the box and curled the ball beyond the diving Kasper Schmeichel.
The next came from Carles Gil. Originally frozen out under Tim Sherwood he has impressed recently and today he was fantastic for Villa. He powered home a left-foot curler on the first touch and seemingly left Leicester done and dusted.
It was a goal that certainly caught the attention of one former Aston Villa midfielder. Barry Bannan came through the ranks at Villa before heading off to Crystal Palace and Sheffield Wednesday this summer.
The Championship midfielder still has a fondness for his former club and posted this Tweet earlier today:
Go on the villa wat a finish that is from Gil— barry bannan (@bazzabannan25) September 13, 2015
Unfortunately things did not pan out well for Villa. They went on to lose the game 3-2 after goals from Ritchie De Laet, Jamie Vardy and Nathan Dyer in a stunning comeback from The Foxes to leave the likes of Bannan and every other Villa fan fairly devastated.
