Former West Ham United and Newcastle United striker Demba Ba has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Anthony Martial’s dream debut for Manchester United on Saturday evening.
Teenage forward Martial started his Premier League career in sensational style, scoring a wonderful goal against Liverpool at Old Trafford.
The 19-year-old France international came on as a substitute for Spain international attacking midfielder Juan Mata in the 65th minute.
With four minutes of normal time remaining, Martial found the target from close range after cutting inside from the left after a brilliant run.
Ex-Chelsea striker Ba was following the match, and he was delighted to see the former AS Monaco youngster score for United against Liverpool.
Shanghai Greenland Shenhua star Ba, who joined West Ham in 2011 before moving to Newcastle and then Chelsea in 2013, posted the following message on Twitter after Martial’s strike, which when translated from French reads: “Thank you, Martial. That will shut up their mouths. Well done, boy.”
Merci Martial. Ils vont tous fermer leur bouche. Bien joué garçon— Demba Ba (@dembabafoot) September 12, 2015
Martial, who joined United from Ligue 1 outfit Monaco on transfer deadline day, is a brilliant talent, and he showed that on Saturday evening.
