Liverpool-owned attacker Sergi Canos has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at making his debut for Brentford against Leeds United away from home on Saturday afternoon.
The 18-year-old, who can play as a striker or as a winger, did not start the Championship game at Elland Road, but came on as a substitute in the 85th minute.
Cani, a former Spain Under-17 international, joined Brentford on loan until January 2016 from Premier League outfit Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The teenager was delighted to have featured in his first game for Brentford and posted the following message on Twitter after full time:
What a day for me... Very happy to get my @BrentfordFC debut in a difficult stadium vs Leeds United. We'll go again on Tuesday!!!— Sergi Canós Tenés (@sergicanos) September 12, 2015
Well done to all who travelled up. Tough one to swallow at the end. But showed a lot of character at an intimidating stadium.— Harlee Dean (@OfficialHDean) September 12, 2015
Brentford took the lead just before the half-hour mark when debutant Marco Djuricin found the target with a curling striker.
Leeds restored parity in the 76th minute when Mirco Antenucci dispossessed Ryan Woods and fired in.
