The striker is currently on loan at Hull City.
Arsenal have an excellent record for bringing through young talent at the club in recent years, with the likes of Jack Wilshere, Cesc Fabregas and Hector Bellerin all examples plucked at random.
One player the club has a lot of hope for in the future is Chuba Akpom. The talented striker was loaned out to Hull City this summer after scoring goals for fun in the Arsenal under-21 fold.
The 19-year-old Londoner, who has also been out on loan at Coventry City, Brentford and Nottingham Forest, has also been a star for England at youth international level and has the world at his feet going forward.
In the past many have compared the lad to Arsenal legend Ian Wright. The former Gunners striker turned pundit is the former record scorer at Arsenal and is surely an inspiration for Akpom.
That certainly seems to be the case.
Akpom Tweeted this simple message on his Twitter account earlier today, highlighting his admiration for the Arsenal legend:
Akpom has some way to go if he is to reach the heights that Wrighty did in his career. But he has scored his first senior goals as a professional this season and will no doubt hope to follow in the great man’s footsteps.
