West Ham United co-chairman David Sullivan admits regret over transfer of Andre Ayew

The Premier League Player of the Month has had a blinding start at Swansea City.

Swansea City have had a great start to the season and one of the main players in that wonderful start has been Andre Ayew.

The Welsh club won a huge battle for the signature of the former Marseille attacker this summer in what was something of a surprise choice from the Ghanaian superstar.

He was linked with a plethora of other clubs and Swansea have been proven right in their decision to bring him in, as Ayew was named the Premier League Player of the Month this week.

He has scored three goals in his first three Premier League games as Swansea currently sit fourth in the Premier League on eight points.

Now one chairman has admitted his displeasure at not getting hold of Ayew this summer. David Sullivan, co-chairman at West Ham United, is quoted by London24 as stating:

“I regret not signing Ayew you because I really fancied him.”

West Ham would no doubt have benefitted from Ayew’s presence but they have done some good business in the same position recently.

Both Michail Antonio and Victor Moses came into the fold on Transfer Deadline Day and West Ham fans will be hoping the pair can make Sullivan forget about Ayew.
