Three teams from Middle East interested in signing Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse this month

Teams from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates are keen on signing the Senegal international.

HITC Sport understands that several teams from the Middle East are looking into the potential signing of Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse.

The Senegalese striker has struggled for first-team football at St James Park this season and at least three teams from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar are looking into the potential to buy the 30-year-old.

Cisse has been struggling for first-team football at Newcastle this season and would like to be the starting striker at St James Park but has found competition fierce in the form of Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ayoze Perez – with Siem De Jong also posing a threat.

The transfer window in both the UAE and Qatar is not yet closed and there is hope that he could be convinced to leave England for a career in the Middle East.

However, a deal has its problems. Firstly, Newcastle do not want to sell considering the transfer window is now shut. Cisse is also settled in the North East and although a move to the Middle East could be lucrative and tempting a deal looks some way off.

The teams in question have not yet approached Newcastle about a move, with the financing of any deal still to be sorted out. They also have plenty of other big names on their respective shortlists, including the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and Oscar Cardozo, but are genuinely hopeful of Cisse being the man they get.
