New Leeds United signing Jordan Botaka did not feature against Brentford today.
Leeds United boss Uwe Rosler has explained to the club's official Twitter account why new signing Jordan Botaka played no part today.
Leeds drew for the fifth time in the league this season, with a 1-1 draw against Brentford at Elland Road. A late Mirco Antenucci equaliser for Leeds cancelled out Marco Djuricin's opener, keeping up Rosler's unbeaten record as Leeds boss so far.
However, one player who didn't play is Jordan Botaka. The DR Congo international, 22, joined Leeds on deadline day having impressed in the Netherlands with Excelsior, and he would have come up against his former boss Marinus Dijkhuizen had he played.
Botaka wasn't even in the squad for Leeds today, causing fans to ask where the pacey wide man was - and Rosler clarified his absence after the game.
Rosler on Jordan Botaka not featuring: "He hasn't trained much and we both came to the agreement. He was part of that decision." #lufc— Leeds United FC (@LUFC) September 12, 2015
With games coming up at home against Ipswich Town and away at Milton Keynes Dons within the next week, Botaka may not feature in those games either if Rosler wants to let Botaka build up his fitness levels in the coming days.
Yet fans would certainly love to see a cameo appearance from Botaka in one of the games, given the reputation he has arrived with, and there is a buzz of anticipation surrounding what Botaka could bring to the Leeds side once he makes it on to the pitch.
