Noel Whelan selects three players who impressed him for Leeds United

Former striker took the positives from Leeds United's draw against Brentford.

Former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan has named the three players who stood out for him in the club's draw with Brentford.

Leeds fought back to claim a point, thanks to a goal from substitute Mirco Antenucci.

Whelan was asked by BBC Radio Leeds post-match to pick his man-of-the-match, and responded by selecting three players who impressed.

He said: "Lewis Cook for me, or (Liam Cooper.) Dallas had a good game.

"We weren't winning any battles in the midfield. Only Cook was driving past players."

The former striker turned pundit also had praise for goalkeeper Mirco Antenucci, who he felt made Brentford uncomfortable.

He said: "Wood for all the good things he does, it was a battle for him today, it was what the centre-backs wanted. Antenucci runs into spaces behind. There was a bit more cleverness about him."

The goal was Antenucci's third in the league this season, but he has started just two games, netting previously in draws with Burnley and Bristol City.

Leeds have just have one win to their name this season but are unbeaten after six matches, and face Ipswich Town in midweek.

Stuart Dallas, mentioned by Whelan, won the ball back for the goal which led to Antenucci's equaliser, preventing the club from losing to Brentford for a third successive contest between the two sides.
