Manchester United take on Liverpool in their first match since the international break – and what a huge game it is.
United have had a busy few days after goalkeeper David de Gea surprisingly signed a new contract after looking certain to leave Old Trafford for much of the summer.
As for Liverpool, they will want to get three points against their fierce rivals and lay down a marker for the rest of the season…but that will be easier said than done.
United are currently fifth in the table after losing to Swansea City last time out while Liverpool were humbled at home to West Ham United and are two places below today’s opponents on goal-difference.
United have won seven of their last eight home games against Liverpool and it would be a huge boost for manager Louis van Gaal if they add to that this evening.
But Liverpool have impressed away from home this season, taking four points from a possible six, so what chance an away victory that would shake things up directly after domestic matters resume?
