Barry Bannan, who joined Sheffield Wednesday from Crystal Palace in the summer, could make his debut against Burnley in the Championship.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at the prospect of making his debut for the club this afternoon.

The Scotland international joined Championship outfit Wednesday from Premier League side Crystal Palace on a one-year contract in the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old former Aston Villa midfielder could make his debut for the Owls against Burnley away from home in the Championship today.

Bannan is looking forward to returning to action and has made the following posts on Twitter ahead of the encounter at Turf Moor:

Wednesday are 15th in the Championship table at the moment with five points from as many matches, just two points above the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, hosts Burnley find themselves 10th in the league table with eight points from five games.

Both Burnley and Wednesday are aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship this season.
