The Italy international has stated that the team’s victory at Anfield was a highlight and that he is enjoying life in England.
The Hammers have had a strange start to the new season, with excellent away wins against the Reds and Arsenal offset by defeats on home soil against Leicester and Bournemouth.
After a summer of heavy recruitment, Slaven Bilic’s team looks considerably different to the side that finished last term, with Ogbonna an imposing figure in the heart of the club’s rearguard.
The former Juventus and Torino centre-half has admitted that winning against Liverpool was a memorable experience.
“We are still celebrating our victory over Liverpool and it was a great performance from the team,” he told the club’s official website.
“We had good organisation and everything was amazing. To end 52-years without a win is a long time for any team and the coach prepared everything so well. We had a good game.”
Ogbonna continued by stating that he has settled into life at Upton Park and is keen to improve his language skills.
“I am really enjoying life in London,” Ogbonna said.
“I have an English teacher and I want to improve my English. When I first arrived at West Ham I said I wanted to improve so I can listen to everyone and understand what everyone is saying.”
West Ham are back in Premier League action this Monday night as they host Newcastle ad will want to get their first home victory of the campaign against Steve McClaren’s men.
With the Hammers showing that they can go toe-to-toe with the best in the division so far this term, hopes are high that Bilic’s side can have a progressive campaign.
