Aleksandar Mitrovic joined Newcastle United from Belgian giants Anderlecht in the summer transfer window amid much hype and expectations.
The Serbia international striker is a promising young player, but he has yet to show his quality on the pitch.
Instead, the 20-year-old is now serving a suspension after being sent off against Arsenal at St. James’ Park in the Premier League before the international break.
Mitrovic has collected two yellow cards and one red in four Premier League appearances for the Magpies.
The former Partizan youngster has not scored a goal or created a chance, and has a pass accuracy of just 68%.
When Mitrovic returns from suspension, he will have to step up his game.
Papiss Cisse is one of the better players on the books of Newcastle, but the Senegal international has not made a strong start to the season.
The striker played well against Southampton at St. James’ Park on the opening day of the season, scoring once and creating problems for the opposition defenders.
However, since then the 30-year-old has not scored and has also struggled to test opposition defences, failing to take a good chance against Manchester United at Old Trafford after being introduced as a late substitute.
