Tottenham Hotspur star Kyle Walker pays tribute to under-fire Sunderland defender

The pair will face off in the Premier League on Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur take on Sunderland this weekend, hoping to grab their first win of the season and finally get things on track for 2015-16.

Meanwhile the Black Cats are themselves not having the best of starts to the new campaign. They currently sit rooted to the bottom of the table after a flaky start to the campaign which has seen some questionable defending.

The fixture, at the Stadium of Light on Sunday, will also see a couple of former Tottenham layers aiming for victory.

Jermain Defoe and Younes Kaboul both spent two separate spells with Tottenham Hotspur and are now both at Sunderland.

One man looking forward to taking them on is Kyle Walker. The Spurs right-back has been speaking about the two players, revealing the impact Kaboul had on his Tottenham career.

He told the official Tottenham Hotspur website:

“Yeah we all know what JD (Defoe) can do in and around the box and so we need to be switched on defensively for that.

“Younes has been a fantastic servant to the club. Especially for me, he taught me a lot when he was here. In my first season he looked after me a lot and I have a lot to thank him for.”

Kaboul will just hope to be on his top form. He has struggled since his move to Wearside and Tottenham fans are not surprised, given his dip in form toward the end of his time at Spurs.

Walker and co, in particular Harry Kane, will likely want to prey on their former colleague in hopes of getting the better over their opposition this weekend and finally getting three points on the board.
