The Ghanaian has taken to the Premier League seamlessly so far.
The 25-year-old has played just four Premier League fixtures, but is already making waves in the competition since his summer move from French side Marseille.
As confirmed by Swansea City on their official Twitter account, Ayew has now been elected as August's Player of the Month. In claiming the award, the Swansea man saw off fellow nominees Riyad Mahrez, David Silva, Aleksandar Kolarov, Chris Smalling, and his own teammate, Bafetimbi Gomis.
For many, the honour comes well earned for the Ghana international. His attacking contributions amid a potentially tricky start to the league for Swansea have been exceptional; featuring goals against both Chelsea and Manchester United.
Perhaps it has been that big game effect which gave Ayew the edge overall. Not only has the ex-Marseille man scored against a selection of the more challenging opponents, he has done so at crucial times in games.

His first of the season came at Stamford Bridge, and did so to put Swansea back in a game they had fallen behind in. He then repeated the feat at home to Manchester United some weeks later, after Juan Mata had opened the scoring. In both fixtures, Ayew's efforts pulled his team from adversity to claim a positive result.
And particularly in a summer where Premier League clubs shelled out record numbers in the transfer market, the fact that Swansea picked up Ayew on a free transfer - according to the Guardian - must make the award all the more sweeter for Garry Monk and the club.
The Swans return to action this weekend with an away trip to take on Watford, where Ayew is expected to resume his role of growing importance in the team. Anything other than a defeat would maintain Swansea's unbeaten start to the campaign, and maintain what is already a fantastic opening to the new season.
