Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko praises Steve McClaren's new dress code

The French international believes the team looks 'fantastic' at the moment.

Newcastle United’s new players have been turning some heads this season, not so much on the pitch, as off it.

The two in question are Chancel Mbemba and Florian Thauvin. The summer signings from Anderlecht and Marseille respectively must have heard that Sony and MGM are looking for a new James Bond. The pair arrived for their league debuts sporting rather fetching dinner suits, complete with bowtie – it looked like they were off to the Oscars.

This is apparently all down to Steve McClaren’s new dress code. He has insisted on his players wearing a suit to games and the new boys just decided to go full hog.

Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko has now had his say on the new dress code, saying he likes it, even if he himself has not gone as far as his new teammates. He told the Shields Gazette:

“It’s very good – everyone is smart and looks fantastic.

“I think it’s a good thing for the team.”

Whilst Newcastle are looking good off the pitch, on it is currently a different story.

The club are yet to win in the Premier League this season and have been struggling just to keep ten men on the pitch. Currently they sit 19th, on just two points, and face West Ham at Upton Park on Monday night.
