Manchester United fans react on Twitter to Angel di Maria's first PSG start

Angel Di Maria Argentina

Angel di Maria started his first game for PSG since his move from Manchester United.

Angel di Maria started his first game for Paris Saint-Germain last night after his summer switch from Manchester United.

The Argentine international was United's record signing a year ago, and despite scoring three goals and providing 10 assists, he failed to settle at the club and was dropped by boss Louis van Gaal.

United made the tough decision to sell him this summer after just one season, making a loss on the fee they paid Real Madrid as they let him leave for PSG.

With just 24 minutes of football as a substitute for the French champions to his name before last night's game with Bordeaux, he was handed a first start by manager Laurent Blanc.

PSG drew the game 2-2, with a brace from Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, only for their goalkeeper Kevin Trapp to make two errors to allow Bordeaux to claim a draw.

Di Maria did not assist either goal and his performance was similarly haphazard compared to those he put in for United last season.

He had eight shots on goal, with only two finding the target, and his 72 per cent pass completion rate was the lowest of any outfield PSG player.

While he made five dribbles, this did not pay off in terms of production, delivering nine crosses and finding a teammate only once.

Here is a look at how United fans who saw his display televised reacted to it...
