AH: Derby have the strongest squad in the league. Clement struggling to find best XI http://t.co/h9ab1QPJ1n— Football League (@SkySportsFL) September 11, 2015
Whilst not a wild accusation due to the signings the Rams have made over the summer, it is certainly one that the players have yet to live up to.
Five games have yet to bring a victory for the East Midlands side, with four draws and one defeat, whilst they also lost to League Two Portsmouth in the first-round of the League Cup.
Hinchcliffe also hinted at a reason for this issue in his statement, suggesting that their squad strength has meant head coach Paul Clement has been unable to discover his best XI as of yet.
Unfortunately for Clement, he has been faced with a number of injuries, especially in his midfield, which has meant he has had to change his team around more than he would have liked.
His defence has been fairly stable, but the central and attacking thirds have been struggling, and there is a real lack of chemistry between the players.
As it is still only early in the season, Clement should not be worrying too much about the poor performances his team have been putting in, but he needs to discover his best XI soon if Derby are ready to fulfil their potential.
