The AFC Bournemouth record signing is set to miss the season with a nasty knee injury.

AFC Bournemouth have not been blessed by luck in the injury department recently. Their two record signings are both out of action until the New Year with knee injuries. Max Gradel is out until February but Mings is out for even longer. The summer signing from Ipswich Town might even miss the start of next season with a terrible knee injury, suffering tears to both his anterior and medial ligaments.

Tyrone Mings cost the club £8 million from Ipswich, according to The Mirror. He was injured in a challenge with Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater and has now undergone surgery on the problem.

However he does remain in good spirits.

He sent out this Tweet earlier today, showing him recuperating from the operation and clearly enjoying the side effects of his painkilling medication.

He Tweeted:

Mings, who was making his debut against Leicester when he picked up the injury, is clearly optimistic about his recovery but if he plays again this season it would be nothing short of a miracle considering the severity of his injury problem.

Here’s hoping he can make a full recovery and return to playing in time for next season.
