Three Tottenham players who have been disappointing so far this season

Erik Lamela, Nabil Bentaleb and Harry Kane have failed to spark for Tottenham Hotspur so far this season…

Erik Lamela

Erik Lamela has been frustratingly inconsistent for Tottenham Hotspur since his move from AS Roma in the summer of 2013.

This season is no different, as the Argentina international attacker continues to struggle to make a huge impact for Spurs.

In three Premier League appearances so far this campaign, Lamela has created six chances. The 23-year-old has a pass accuracy of 76% and has won five tackles.

Lamela has started just one league game for Tottenham and perhaps that explains his disappointing stats, but one has to ask why he is not guaranteed a place in Spurs’ starting lineup in the first place.

Nabil Bentaleb

Nabil Bentaleb was one of the best players for Tottenham last season, but the Algeria international appears to be struggling for form at the moment.

The 20-year-old midfielder has started just two of the Spurs’ four league games this campaign, and it seems that he is not guaranteed a place in the first XI anymore.

The youngster has failed to impose himself on games and has often misplaced passes - he has a pass accuracy of 79%.

Harry Kane

A controversial choice, especially as he scored twice for England during the international break, but there is no doubt that for Tottenham Harry Kane has struggled so far this season.

The 22-year-old striker has not scored in a Premier League match, although he has created as many as eight chances.

The most astonishing stat is that Kane has a shot accuracy of just 38%. Only three of the youngster’s shots have been on target; five have been off target and five have been blocked.

To put that into some context, last season Kane had a shot accuracy of 58%.
