Sol Bamba a fan of Rosler but says he owes Sven everything

The Leeds defender has been discussing the former England and Leicester boss.

Leeds United centre-back Sol Bamba says he owes former Leicester City and England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson everything, according to the Football League Paper.

The Ivorian has been discussing everything Leeds in a recent interview but also spoke of his personal inspirations, with manager Eriksson his biggest role model.

Indeed, Bamba is quoted as saying he is a fan of both current boss Uwe Rosler and predecessor Neil Redfearn - but not as much as Sven.

The 30-year-old told the League Paper: "Sven has been huge for me.

"I’ve always said that I owe him everything. He took me down to England and picked me for the 2010 World Cup. And apart from all of that, he’s also a great man. I have great respect for him and he is still someone who I speak to regularly for advice."

Bamba also went on to state that Eriksson played a huge part in getting Leicester where they are today, which is an intriguing claim.

How much of Leicester's success so far this term is down to Claudio Ranieri and how much of it down to the foundations laid by Nigel Pearson? Take Bamba's quotes into consideration and it then becomes how much of an impact did Sven also play when he was in the Midlands.

At Leeds, meanwhile, it's even more intriguing to try and imagine the former England and Leicester boss in charge at Elland Road - although that doesn't look like it'll ever happen!
