The former Ghana international is out of favour at current club Schalke 04 and has so far failed to complete a move away from the Gelsenkirchen side.
Boateng previously came close to completing a summer switch to Sporting Lisbon, as covered by the Guardian, but that deal reportedly collapsed after the player failed to come to an agreement with the Portuguese giants over his image rights.
Now back with the Bundesliga side, the 28-year-old looks unlikely to return to the Royal Blues starting line-up any time soon having been indefinitely suspended by the club last term.
That could free him up for an entirely new venture alongside fiancée Melissa Satta, though.
According to a report from Novella 2000, Boateng and Satta have signed a contract with an American television production company.
Under the agreement, the pair will star in a new television show set to focus on the build-up to their wedding.
With the pair set to wed in July 2016, this could be one story to watch.
Then again, with so many rumours surrounding the former Portsmouth and AC Milan man’s future, what happens next is anyone’s guest.
He’s earned 15 caps for Ghana to date, scoring two goals and was part of the side that reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup in 2010.
But attitude problems have dogged his career to date and stopped him from living up to the promise he showed as a youth international for Germany - the country of his birth.
