The Sunderland players were training on Thursday ahead of the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur at home on Sunday afternoon.
The Black Cats will head into the encounter against Tottenham at the Stadium of Light on the back of a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa away from home at Villa Park.
Sunderland have been disappointing so far this season and find themselves at the foot of the league table at the moment with just two points from four matches.
Dick Advocaat’s side will be determined to win against Spurs on Sunday, and the players were training hard on Thursday.
Among the players training on Thursday was striker Steven Fletcher, who was linked with a move away from Sunderland in the summer transfer window (see photo to the right).
According to BBC Sport, Scottish Premiership giants Celtic wanted to sign the Scotland international on loan on transfer deadline day.
Another Sunderland player who were preparing in earnest for the match against Tottenham was Fabio Borini (see photo below).
The Italy international striker joined the Black Cats from Premier League rivals Liverpool for what BBC Sport reports to be a transfer fee which could rise to £10 million.
The 24-year-old former Chelsea prospect played on loan for Sunderland during the 2013-14 season, scoring seven goals and creating 26 chances in 32 Premier League appearances.
