Jose Enrique is back in the Liverpool first team fold.
Jose Enrique is back in favour at Liverpool - even snapped in training yesterday at Melwood making boss Brendan Rodgers laugh.
The Spanish defender has not featured this season, and was a candidate to be sold this summer with just one year remaining on his contract.
Enrique, 29, even spoke out in the press, criticising the management for freezing him out.
He was quoted by The Mirror in August, referencing Marca, stating: "I'm in a difficult position, Balotelli, Borini and me have been alienated."
"I know that if I stay, I'll play. I want to prove that some are wrong."
Just 24 hours before transfer deadline day, The Birmingham Mail had claimed Liverpool at West Bromwich Albion had agreed a fee for Enrique, and the Spaniard was due to travel to the Midlands for a medical.
The former Newcastle United man was seemingly determined to stay, and is back in Rodgers' good graces, having been involved in first team training again.
Balotelli was loaned to AC Milan and Borini sold to Sunderland permanently, but while Liverpool have Enrique, they might as well keep around a player who is evidently a popular member of the first team squad, even if he is currently third in the pecking order for left-back behind Alberto Moreno and Joe Gomez.
