The Portugal international is hoping to fire the goals to send his new club up the table.
However, after the sale of Michail Antonio to West Ham, the club were in a much stronger financial state and were given Football League ratification to conclude several new loan deals.
One such deal saw Nelson Oliveira arrive at the club on loan from SL Benfica. Once considered the saviour of central attacking options for Portugal, in recent times he has struggled for fitness and form.
He spent the second half of last season in the Premier League with Swansea City and had his moments, so Forest fans are right to be excited about his presence.
He has now been speaking about his time at Forest so far and his objectives for the season. Talking to the Nottingham Forest official website he confirmed he has high hopes for his time at the City Ground:
“My first few days here have been good. My teammates and the manager have helped me a lot and I’m happy to be here.
“I always try to give my best and my target is to score goals. My job is to score goals and help the team to win games of football. Hopefully the supporters will like me and will like the way I play.
“My ambition is to help Nottingham Forest have a good season and to finish in the top seven. The job for me is to work hard and try and help the team succeed.”
Oliveira, whose playing style has been compared to Eric Cantona in the past, will need to hit the ground running this weekend as Forest take on promotion hopefuls QPR at Loftus Road.
Here’s hoping Oliveira can be a hit in Nottingham.
