Antonio, 25, was one of the stars of the Championship season last term, racking up 14 goals for Forest after joining from Sheffield Wednesday last summer.
However, his superb performances at the City Ground triggered interest in his signature, and it was West Ham United who swooped to sign him on deadline day in a big-money move.
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic had been looking to sign wingers to give him more tactical flexibility, and Antonio was joined by fellow winger Victor Moses last week.
Now, Football League pundit Don Goodman has been asked by Sky Sports News for some insight into what Antonio can offer for West Ham.
Goodman spoke glowingly of Antonio, particularly for his athletic ability out wide, whilst also suggesting that the player deserves a chance in the top flight after impressing so much last season.
"He's rapid and very direct, and extremely hard working," said Goodman. "I think West Ham fans will really like him. He was fantastic in his first season with Forest; scoring lots of goals and creating lots of chances for his team-mates. He was a bit hit-and-miss at Sheffield Wednesday, but he fully deserves his move to the Premier League," he added.
Antonio may be thrown into the side to face Newcastle United on Monday evening, and his combination of power and pace should certainly excite Hammers fans who have so far seen a narrow diamond system this season, due to their lack of wingers.
