The talented lad secured victory over Ipswich Town under-18s with a beauty.
The club’s transfer embargo has seen them struggle in the transfer market meaning they could not sufficiently strengthen their team. That has also seen plenty of youngsters brought through to the first-team a little faster than the club or manager Dougie Freedman would have liked.
But at least the talent is deep, as proven by this under-18 star earlier in the week.
The player in question is Virgil Gomis.
Gomis, a young attacker in the Forest youth system, was a substitute in the game with Ipswich Town this week. With the scores level at 2-2, the Forest talent did this…
His self-assisted wonder-overhead claimed all three points for Jack Lester’s Forest under-18 side and has now gone viral online for the sheer audacity of the strike. It was certainly a goal that even Zlatan Ibrahimovic would have been proud of.
Now Gomis has put his name out there he will have to try and back it up in the years to come. But if there is magic like this in those boots, he should do just fine.
