A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Tottenham Hotspur this Wednesday evening.
West Bromwich Albion's director of football administration has said there was no real chance of Tottenham signing Saido Berahnio from the Baggies, according to several media outlets including the Express & Star.
Tottenham had a few bids rejected for the forward but Richard Garlick has said that none of the offers made by Spurs came close to being acceptable, and said the club would have only received a £3 million fee up front.
He said: "Every player has a price and if the price is right you can use the money.
"But you can’t do it with six hours to go (in the window). There were no replacements available. We were preparing for different eventualities – it would have been remiss of us not to do that.
"It just wasn’t acceptable and was rejected out of hand. At the same time as the offer came in, there was a transfer request put in by the player."
As a result he is available for selection for this weekend's Premier League game against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
Kane found the net in both of England's internationals against San Marino and Switzerland, which followed some question marks about his form in the early stages of the season - having failed to find the net in the first four games of the campaign.
The forward said: “I am delighted with the way things have gone on this trip and now I go back and focus on Sunderland at the weekend.
“I am going to try and take this confidence back and we will see what happens.”
