Tim Sherwood should bring Jordan Veretout back into the starting XI for Leicester City tie

Tim Sherwood Press Conference Smiling 12/02/2014

The Frenchman has not set the world alight since his arrival at Villa Park, but could be in line for a recall.

Aston Villa have been dealt a blow from international duty, as it was confirmed that Idrissa Gana Gueye had picked up a hamstring injury whilst on international duty for Senegal.

Because of his injury he missed yesterday’s 1-0 defeat to South Africa and looks very unlikely to feature against Leicester City this weekend.

With his absence likely, how should Tim Sherwood go about changing things for the game? He should bring in another of his summer signings.

Jordan Veretout cost £8 million from Nantes this summer, joining on a five-year deal – as reported by the Daily Mail.

However, he is yet to show off his talent consistently. He was subbed off in both his Premier League appearances so far – against Bournemouth and Manchester United.

It has been a struggle for him so far but his talent is undoubted and with Gana out he is the obvious candidate to take over.

Plus, there is another reason he should be brought in. When he joined Villa this summer there was one other Premier League offer on his table – from Leicester City.

This is his chance to rub the fact he snubbed The Foxes right in the proverbial nose and begin to earn back some of that transfer fee.
