The Tottenham Hotspur defender signed a new contract on Wednesday afternoon.
The young Tottenham man has made a terrific start to life in north London, despite not being able to hold down a particular position at the Lane.
Instead, Dier has used his versatility to impress at centre-back, right-back and, more recently, central midfield.
So far this season, Mauricio Pochettino has played him alongside the likes of Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb through the middle.
Reacting to news of his new contract, meanwhile, Soldado responded warmly. The Spaniard was sold by Spurs this summer after an underwhelming two-year spell in the capital, although the 30-year-old still endeared himself to the Tottenham faithful.
Congrats Eric!! Enjoy the moment!! https://t.co/BLuUmnCtTq— Roberto Soldado (@R9Soldado) September 9, 2015
Meanwhile, centre-back Jan Vertonghen also reacted on social media to Dier's new deal, delivering a more understated message. The Belgian has often partnered the youngster at the heart of Spurs' defence.
The 21-year-old clearly has a bright future at Tottenham but it will be interesting to see where boss Pochettino deploys him, considering Dier has shown himself capable of playing in three different positions.
