Jordan Amavi scored for France's under-21 side.

Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi scored as France's under-21 side managed an impressive win over their Brazilian counterparts.

Amavi played from the start against a Brazil team which boasted Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Silva and had Manchester United prospect Andreas Pereira on the bench.

France's side featured PSG's Adrien Rabiot and Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman.

Amavi was making his fourth appearance for France's under-21 side, having also represented his country at under-20, and under-18 level.

The left-back has been in impressive form for Aston Villa since making a summer switch from Nice, settling into Premier League football comfortably.

His goal will only give him more confidence as he prepares to return to England and hoping to retain his starting role as Villa travel to this season's surprise package Leicester City this weekend.

More impressive displays for club and country and the possibility of stepping up to the Les Bleus senior team as a long-term replacement for Patric Evra is a distinct possibility.
