Alan Shearer reacts on Twitter to Harry Kane's goal, moans answered

Shearer had been moaning that Tottenham striker Harry Kane had not been picked by England, shortly before he came on and scored.

Former England hero Alan Shearer's calls were answered as Harry Kane came off the bench to score for England.

With the game at Wembley an uninspiring stalemate, Shearer took to Twitter early in the second half to bemoan the fact Roy Hodgson had left the Tottenham Hotspur striker on the bench.

Minutes later Kane was brought on as a substitute for Jonjo Shelvey, and made a prompt impact.

The striker netted the opener in the 2-0 win, and celebrated with in a style familiar to Shearer, with his trademark one arm in the air celebration, which certainly pleased the Newcastle legend.

Kane now has three goals in four appearances for England, but has a long way to go in order to beat Wayne Rooney, who netted his 50th goal for the Three Lions last night, breaking Sir Bobby Charlton's long standing record.

The goals are a welcome confidence boost for Kane who is yet to net for his club this campaign, as he seeks to replicate last season's outstanding breakthrough season.
