Rangers fans react as Charlie Mulgrew starts for Scotland over Lee Wallace

Rangers fans believe Lee Wallace should play for Scotland instead of Celtic's Charlie Mulgrew.

Scotland's Euro 2016 hopes are hanging by a thread after a narrow 3-2 defeat to Germany at Hampden Park on Monday evening.

Gordon Strachan's side were already in trouble following their 1-0 loss to Georgia over the weekend, and knew that they really had to beat the world champions Germany to put themselves back in the picture for qualification.

However, Joachim Loew's side edged Scotland out in a topsy-turvy game. Thomas Muller's deflected strike handed Germany the lead, before a Mats Hummels own goal drew Scotland level.

Muller restored Germany's lead, only for James McArthur to haul Scotland level once again - but ultimately it was Germany who came out on top, with Ilkay Gundogan scoring the winning goal in the second half.

A number of Scotland players disappointed on the night, with Celtic's Charlie Mulgrew particularly coming in for criticism from Scotland supporters.

A versatile player, Mulgrew was pressed into action at left back against Germany, and struggled throughout in a poor display - and Rangers fans were quick to pounce on that.

Mulgrew has been in the Scotland side whilst Rangers left back Lee Wallace has been left out completely, and their supporters took to Twitter during and after the game to lobby for Wallace's inclusion in the future.

Some stated that the decision to go with Mulgrew over Wallace was 'inexcusable', and that Scotland will go nowhere if they continue to make such baffling decisions.
