Norwich City fans react on Twitter to Kyle Lafferty's Northern Ireland display

Norwich City

Out of favour Norwich City forward Kyle Lafferty netted a vital goal for Northern Ireland against Hungary.

Kyle Lafferty kept Northern Ireland's fate in their own hands with a vital last gasp equaliser against Hungary.

His goal rescued a draw, to leave his national side needing a victory at home to Greece to clinch qualification for Euro 2016.

Lafferty's situation is a peculiar one, with the 27-year-old struggling to get a game for his club, yet in great form for his country.

The strike was his seventh of the qualifying campaign, with Northern Ireland amassing points so far.

So far this season he has been surplus to requirements for Norwich City, who loaned him out to Turkish side Rizespor at the end of last season, as they went onto clinch promotion without him.

Yet Norwich have not hit the ground running in the Premier League, scoring only five goals in four games and winning just the once.

With Lafferty full of confidence, Norwich would be wise to at least bring him into the squad and feature him on the bench this weekend when they host Bournemouth.

The loan window opens for Football League clubs shortly, and if Norwich continue to overlook Lafferty then his international form dictates they will not be short on offers.

His goal last night largely had fans on social media clamouring for boss Alex Neil to get him involved this weekend, here is a selection of the comments...
