One of West Ham United's deadline day signings has been gearing up for his return.
The Barcelona player was one of four deadline day arrivals at the Hammers – along with Nikica Jelavic, Victor Moses and Michail Antonio – and he is using the international break to get back to his best ahead of the vital Premier League matches just around the corner.
Song played 31 matches for West Ham last season, starting in blistering form before tailing off in the second half of the campaign.
There have been injury concerns regarding the 27-year-old but another loan spell means there is little risk for West Ham and the player has another year to prove he can cut it back in the Premier League.
The Mail reported that Song underwent a rigorous workout on Monday as he attempted to get back into shape.
West Ham’s next match is at home to Newcastle United later this month and after beating Liverpool 3-0 last time out the Hammers will be on a high.
Song is unlikely to feature in that encounter but hopefully it will not be long before manager Slaven Bilic can call on him once more.
