Three players released by Leeds United still looking for a club

Three players who made first team appearances for Leeds United last season are still free agents.

The transfer deadline may have passed, but for played left unsigned, the hope of landing a fresh move remains.

Leeds United signed a number of players over the summer, but of those they released, three notable players are still looking for new clubs.

Here is a look at the trio who are still waiting for the right offer...

Michael Tonge

Tonge made four first team starts for Leeds last season and six appearances from the bench.

He was loaned out to Millwall in the second half of the campaign, where he made five starts.

The 32-year-old may be a good addition for League One or League Two teams, given his struggle to play regularly in the Championship last season.

Rodolph Austin

Former Leeds captain Rudy Austin featured at both the Copa America and Gold Cup over the summer for Jamaica, only to return to the UK and bizarrely be refused a work permit.

This prevented him from signing with Sheffield Wednesday, reported the BBC.

Danish outlet TipsBladet reported that Brondby are interested in his services but so far no deal has been done.

Stuart Taylor

Veteran goalkeeper Stuart Taylor was an afterthought for much of the campaign, before being called up to start in place of Marco Silvestri at the end of the season.

The 34-year-old was released regardless, and is still looking for a new club.

While he has spent his career as a back-up, he showed last season he can be depended on when required, and could find he can win a contract if a side suffers an injury crisis.

Here are those who did find clubs

Aidy White: Signed with Rotherham United.

Zac Thompson: Signed with non-league side Guiseley.

Alex Cairns: Signed for Chesterfield.

Afolabi Coker: Earned a contract with Norwich City, where he is part of the under-21 side.
