No questioning Tottenham fight despite winless start, says Danny Rose

The defender says they must continue to support Harry Kane after he once again drew a blank against Everton.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Tottenham defender Danny Rose says you cannot question their fight despite their winless start to the campaign.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side opened the season with a defeat to Manchester United, and have drawn their other three games, with the latest a 0-0 draw with Everton at White Hart Lane.

They have so far lacked a cutting edge to their play, with them struggling to put games to bed, as was seen in their draws with Stoke and Leicester City, while they also dominated the game against the Toffees.

Rose though, says that you cannot question their fight and continued determination will see the wins start to arrive.

“I don’t think our fight can ever be questioned, especially if you see what goes on in training with people putting challenges in,” he told

“Sometimes we’ve been a bit naïve, conceded silly goals and not been able to see out games, but the fight, if I’m honest, can never be questioned from this team.”

Continued support for Harry Kane a must

Spurs travel to struggling Sunderland after the international break, and will be convinced it is the perfect opportunity for their first three points given the Black Cats’ poor start to the season.

They will be hoping that Harry Kane can open his account for the season after he managed to score for England against San Marino, which is sure to be a big boost to his confidence.

And Rose says they must continue to support him to get the goals flowing, while also building on what they did well defensively against Everton.

“I think we have to build on what we did defensively against Everton – that’s the six back players as well as Hugo,” he added.

“We have to keep encouraging Harry as well. As long as we can keep doing that, the goals will come for him and the rest of the team.”
