David Sullivan’s response when asked about West Ham’s starting line-up

Premier League outfit West Ham United have a number of quality players.

West Ham United co-chairman David Sullivan does not know what the team's starting line-up should be, Jack Sullivan has revealed in his column on the club's official website.

Jack Sullivan, who is the youngster son of the Hammers co-chairman, wrote: “I asked my dad what his starting XI would be now and he couldn't name it – I was the same !!

“We have got so much competition for places and there is real strength in depth which is what you need at this level.”

What is West Ham United’s best XI?

West Ham were quite busy in the summer transfer window and signed a number of players.

In fact, even on transfer deadline day, the Hammers were doing business and recruited Michail Antonio, Nikica Jelavic, Alex Song and Victor Moses.

Manager Slaven Bilic now has a number of good quality players in his squad, but it will be a challenge for him to pick his best XI when everyone is fit.

Adrian is a certainty between the posts, while Carl Jenkinson will be the right-back and Aaron Cresswell the left-back. Angelo Ogbonna and Winston Reid should be the two centre-backs.

Alex Song, signed on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona, and Cheikhou Kouyate should be the two defensive midfielders in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Diafra Sakho should be lone striker up front, with Enner Valencia, Dimitri Payet and Antonio behind him in attacking midfield.

Many observers will suggest that Mark Noble should be guaranteed a place in the West Ham starting line-up, especially as he has been made the new captain, but who should he replace?
