Clarke, a former Arsenal midfielder himself, was impressed with the performance of Walcott for England against San Marino away from home in a Euro 2016 Group E qualifier on Saturday evening.
The 26-year-old came on as a substitute for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain midway through the second half and scored twice at the San Marino Stadium in Serravalle.
Former Arsenal midfielder Clarke was following the match, which ended in a 6-0 victory for England, and he was impressed with the performance of Walcott.
No right winger I know is more of a goal threat than Walcott. It's his best position - no doubt. Makes unstoppable runs from there.— Adrian Clarke (@adrianjclarke) September 5, 2015
Walcott’s main asset is his pace, which was key to him scoring twice against San Marino.
The England international can also play as a centre-forward, but he is at his best when deployed on the wing from where he can put in crosses or cut inside.
The former Southampton player has been hampered with injuries over the past few years, but he is now fully fit and will be determined to play an important role in Arsenal’s 2015-16 campaign.
