Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane Tweets delight at ending goal drought for England

Defence - Spurs v Chelsea

The striker netted in England's 6-0 win over San Marino.

England are the first team to secure their place in the European Championships next summer in France, after a comfortable passage through their qualification group.

England have won all seven of their games, including a 6-0 triumph against San Marino earlier today.

With Slovakia losing to Spain later in the evening England are also the only team left in the qualifying stages with a 100 per cent record.

After the game there was plenty of reaction from the England players after the win.

Ross Barkley and Luke Shaw, who both got the chance to start the game, impressed in the fixture. The Manchester United full-back was a constant threat down the left-hand side, whilst Everton midfielder Barkley scored early in the second half.

Theo Walcott also scored a brace and was Tweeting his joy at England making it into the finals.

The main talking points after the game however were Wayne Rooney’s levelling of the all-time England goal-scoring record – and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane breaking his duck.

The Tottenham star scored a delightful goal in the second half after entering as a substitute. He latched on to a through ball and dinked a delectable chip into the back of the net.

He Tweeted after the game, congratulating Rooney but also sharing his joy at netting his first goal of the season.

Tottenham fans will now hope that Kane can use this momentum as a kick to his club form and start scoring on a regular basis for Spurs.
