Thierry Henry has advice for Manchester United fans regarding David de Gea

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea failed to secure a move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has written in The Sun that Manchester United fans should not hold any grudges against David de Gea.

The Spain international goalkeeper will remain at United this season following his failure to move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Failure to get the paperwork done in time was the reason behind De Gea’s failed move, as reported by BBC Sport, but Arsenal legend Henry believes that the 24-year-old will continue to give his best for United.

The former Arsenal striker has stated that United fans should welcome back the former Atletico Madrid star as he has not criticised the club.

“It is strange why both United and Real Madrid left the De Gea move so late as it was obvious he wanted to leave,” Henry wrote in The Sun.

“But I have no doubt he will go on to enjoy a decent season with United. He has not criticised the club so the fans should welcome him back.”

De Gea is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and was the best player for United for the past two years.

The Spaniard is the best goalkeeper on the Red Devils' books at the moment, and manager Louis van Gaal needs to reintegrate him into the squad.
