Michail Antonio gives his verdict on West Ham's transfer business... including himself

West Ham signed the winger from Nottingham Forest on Deadline Day.

West Ham United winger Michail Antonio says the east London side have done 'very well' in the transfer market, according to the club's official website.

And the 25-year-old even declared his own signing a good one, stating that he is not scared by the challenge of the top flight - and that he lets his ability take him where it can.

Antonio moved to the Hammers from Nottingham Forest on Deadline Day and has been full of praise for the abundance of other signings the Upton Park outfit have also made this summer.

The former Nottingham Forest winger told the West Ham site: "We have done very well in the market and hopefully adding me to the table will help us push on and see where we can get.

"I’m not scared by this challenge. I will come in and put the hard work in and put my heart on my sleeve and wherever it gets me, it gets me.

"I’m not the sort of person to let things affect me. I’ll let my own ability take me where I can go and if it doesn’t stop me, hopefully I can flourish."

Antonio's confidence is understandable, considering his 15 goals and 13 assists in the Championship last season, stats the West Ham signing has himself referenced.

The 25-year-old should watch for over-confidence, of course. Lazar Markovic is the perfect example. Joining Liverpool, the Serb declared he has nothing to fear, that he didn't need time to adjust and that he will hit the ground running. Shortly after a terrible start, he said he simply needed time to adjust... Several months later, he has been loaned out.

Antonio, though, like Bakary Sako, took the Championship by storm at Nottingham Forest. And that means there is no reason he can't do the same with West Ham in the Premier League.
