Liam Cooper reacts to Warrington win as boxer re-emphasises Elland Road dream

The Leeds centre-back responded on Twitter as the 24-year-old defended his Commonwealth title in style.

Leeds United defender Liam Cooper was delighted to see home favourite Josh Warrington defend his Commonwealth title on Saturday night.

Indeed, 24-year-old Warrington defended his title with a dominant points victory over Joel Brunker. And Cooper took to Twitter with the message that his win was never in doubt.

Warrington has a strong connection with Leeds and is a huge United supporter. As such, the Yorkshire side's official Twitter account also congratulated the boxer, emphasising the message that he and the Leeds faithful are all marching on together.

More members of the Whites squad were no doubt cheering Warrington on, with Chris Wood also taking to social media to show his support for the 24-year-old before the match.

After his fight, meanwhile, the boxer re-emphasised his Elland Road dream to reporters - he wants to fight at the Leeds stadium in the future.

Warrington recently spoke about his desire to win a world title and see Leeds get promoted, according to the Daily Mirror. Perhaps both could take place at Elland Road this season? Or is that being a little too ambitious a little too early...
