Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne has impressed since signing for the Reds from Southampton during the summer transfer window, playing every minute of their Premier League campaign to date and helping them to three clean sheets in the process.
And after that solid start he was rewarded with another cap for England in their Euro 2016 qualifying match against San Marino on Saturday.
The Liverpool full-back played the entire match and helped the Three Lions to a shut-out and a 6-0 victory.
Along with John Stones and Luke Shaw, Clyne looks like being part of a new wave of England defenders and that trio should go on to form the bedrock of the national team for the next decade.
Clyne has impressed at every club he has played for, starting at Crystal Palace before moving on to Southampton and then Liverpool.
Following his latest international match we took to Twitter to see what fans thought of the Liverpool defender’s contribution and you can read a selection of what we found below:
Someone tell Clyne to stop listening to The Hodge. No good will come of it.— Oswald J Gutenberg (@oswaldgutenberg) September 5, 2015
I'm sure Clyne used to be good before he signed for Liverpool.— Sean (@sozmarra) September 5, 2015
Barkley's touch has been abysmal so far. Clyne pretty poor as well. Not a good pitch but some of the touches are horrendous.— Daniel Grigg (@Daniel_Grigg) September 5, 2015
