Nick Powell has confirmed he will return to training on Monday following a long injury layoff, which hasn’t seen him play any kind of competitive football since February.
The 22-year-old will join up with his Manchester United teammates for the first time in seven months after picking up an injury against Everton U21s.

Although it’s likely Powell will join up with the first team on Monday, it could also be a month or two of uncertainty for the youngster as he looks to get himself back up to full match fitness.
Unlikely to break into Louis van Gaal’s plans any time soon, despite being named in United's Champions League squad, Powell could find himself playing for the Red Devils’ U21s or going out on loan once the window opens.
A loan move to a Championship club looks most likely, considering he is now older than 21, and it wouldn’t be surprising if there is more than one taker for the talented Crewe-born midfielder.
A successful spell away from Old Trafford is desperately what Powell needs as he looks to put his career back on the right track.
He has spent time with Wigan Athletic and Leicester City in the last two seasons, but neither switch brought the best out of him and he will be hoping to make it third time lucky if he is to go in search of game time elsewhere once again.
