Has Burnley's injury curse been lifted by this pagan witch? Probably

After all the bad juju going around, it's nice to see some good juju helping out footballers

It's safe to say things haven't quite gone to plan at Sean Dyche's Burnley over the past year or so – not only did they get relegated from the Premier League, but they're also having a bit of an injury crisis.

Over the past 18 months, the likes of Sam Vokes, Dean Marney, Kevin Long and Ashley Barnes have all done their cruciate ligaments, and now former Middlesbrough striker Lukas Jutkiewicz has joined their worrying list!

It's safe to say that the Clarets may well be cursed and will probably end up having loads of more cruciate injuries over the next few months - however, that won't be happening if this white witch has something to do with it.

Yep, that's right, the Lancashire side are being aided by Kevin Carlyon, the high priest of British White Witches who wants to help lift the curse on Sean Dyche's team.

And Kev reckons that some spooky being has put the curse on the team 20 years ago! Speaking to the Telegraph, he said: "With all the injuries being the exact same, it seems as if evil has been to work.

"The spell was most likely cast upon Burnley around 20 years ago. It will escalate and start affecting other areas of the club. Financial backing could be lost, or maybe maintenance issues could occur within the ground."

That sounds like some bad juju! But it hasn't stopped Kev from aiding the team, by performing his very own ritual at Turf Moor on Wednesday and guess what... no Burnley player has been injured! Sure, that may have something to do with the fact they haven't played this week, but that's just a happy coincidence...

But we know what you're thinking... what about those lads whose knees have just about fallen off, well don't worry, Kev the Witch has given us a timeframe for when they're gonna be A-OK.

"May it be that by Halloween, those repetitive knee injuries are stopped, and may the energies that I invoke start a run of increased luck for Burnley," he said.

Brilliant, now you have to wonder why didn't Arsene Wenger call this lad in to Arsenal to help his long list of injured players down the years!
